James O’Brien / Robert De Niro: UX Hero
John Frankenheimer’s 1997 movie “Ronin” is famous for its convoluted plot and spectacular car chases, but hidden within it are some of the most effective product development tips. In this workshop, Robert De Niro’s ex-CIA operative Sam will help illustrate 4 ways to work better with your team, focus on what’s important and get products out of the door. Backed up by practical exercises and helpful mental models, you’ll gain a unique new perspective on UX and find out how to ambush someone with a coffee cup.
It’s not necessary to have seen the film before attending this session (But it’s a great film so do watch it if you get the chance).
James O’Brien
James O’Brien is the Lead UX Architect for Immediate Media, one of the UK’s largest magazine publishers. For the 13 years prior to his current role he freelanced on something approaching 50 different projects, giving him an unusual breadth of perspective on the development of digital products. This experience is now available in distilled form in the shape of the book he co-wrote with Martina Hodges-Schell, “Communicating The UX Vision.” He lives on a dutch barge moored on the Thames and usually smells a bit of diesel.
